Black Hills Rolls Past W.F. West

W.F. West lost its first contest of the season, falling to Black Hills 4-1 in a nonleague girls bowling match at Fairway Lanes on Monday.

The Bearcats’ lost both series to Black Hills, with the Wolves earning the first game 747-581 and the second game 707-632. Ashley Werner led the way for W.F. West, bowling a 180 the first game and a 174 in the second game for a 354 series, third among varsity bowlers.

W.F. West’s Leslie Erwin bowled a 147 followed by a 145 for a 292 series and Kelsey Stritmatter recorded a 80 in the first game, but had a nice 127 in the second game for a 207 series.

Jasmine Gallea bowled a 96 and an 89 for a 185 series and Jessica Loflin rounded out the Bearcats with a 78 and 97 for a 175 series.

In the Baker format games, Black Hills won the first match 181-110. W.F. West bounced back in the second game, recording five strikes in a row at one point for a 197-150 win.

W.F. West (1-1) is back in action on Thursday, facing Fort Vancouver at Fairway Lanes in Centralia.
