Brooks-Johnson Places Sixth in Heptathlon at NCAA Track and Field Championships
Pe Ell Product: Senior at WSU Finishes Fifth in 800-Meters

EUGENE – The galloping pride of Pe Ell, Alissa Brooks Johnson, placed sixth in the heptathlon in the the NCAA Track and Field Championships last week.
Brooks Johnson, a redshirt-senior, was competing in her final meet for Washington State University during the championships held last Friday and Saturday at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon.
She scored 3,149 points on Friday thanks in part to a career best 100-meter hurdles time of 13.84 seconds. She also notched a career-best mark in the shot put with a mark of 42 feet, 2 ¾ inches and entered the final day of competition sitting in 11th place.
Brooks-Johnson made a run up the leaderboard on Saturday thanks to a fifth place finish in the 800 meter race with a time of 2 minutes, 15.69 seconds. She also placed eighth in the javelin with a season-best heave of 140 feet, seven inches. She placed 12th in the long jump with a distance of 18-9 ¼.
Brooks Johnson is a three-time Pac 12 champion and also registered a sixth place finish in the 2017 championships.
