College Basketball: Blazers Blow Out Skagit Valley

Four players scored in double figures, and Centralia College beat Skagit Valley, 93-62, on Saturday in NWAC men’s basketball action at Michael Smith Gymnasium in the Hub City.
Marqus Gilson scored 21 points with 11 rebounds, going 3 of 4 from long range, to lead the way for the Trailblazers.
Austin Curry added 15 points and seven boards, Taylor Peppinger came off the bench to added 16 points and hit 4 of 6 from long range, and Collin Prangley added 12 for Centralia with six rebounds and six assists.
The Blazers hit 10 of 26 shots from behind the 3-point arc, and outrebounded Skagit Valley 42-36.
Centralia led 40-28 at halftime. Eshaya Wada led Skagit Valley with 13 points.
The Blazers (4-11) plays at Grays Harbor on Wednesday to open West Region play.

Women’s Basketball
Bulldogs Bite Lady Blazers
BELLEVUE — The Bulldogs didn’t allow a Centralia player to score in double figures here Saturday in a 73-52 NWAC women’s basketball win.
Kayla Howard, Majesty Claybrooks and Devanie Kleemeyer each scored 9 points for the Lady Blazers, who trailed 35-22 at halftime. Kleemeyer added eight rebounds.
Joni Lancaster scored 8 points, seven rebounds and six assists for Centralia, while Isabella Elwood scored 5 with six rebounds.
Molly Dixon led Bellevue with 22 points, along with six rebounds and six assists.
Centralia (7-6) opens West Region play at Grays Harbor on Wednesday.
