College Volleyball: Centralia Fends Off Yakima Valley

Centralia got off to a good start in September, defeating Yakima Valley 3-2 in a non-regional volleyball match here on Wednesday.
The Trailblazers started off strong with a win in the first set, 25-21, and took the second set 25-20. But Yakima Valley battled back to earn the third set, 25-22, and the fourth set, 25-21. Centralia persevered and won the fifth set, 15-11, to take the match.
Autumn Durand had 18 kills and 14 digs for the Blazers. Peyton Timmons had 14 digs and Kary Sathre recorded 12 digs for Centralia.
Centralia (4-3) plays in the Everett Tournament on Thursday, facing host Everett at 5 p.m. and Skagit Valley at 7 p.m.
