Friday Football Roundup: Centralia Rolls Past Rochester

ROCHESTER — The Tigers scored 23 points in the second quarter to cruise to a 37-13 win against Rochester in an Evergreen 2A Conference football game here on Friday night.

Centralia’s Braidyn Hoyt had 93 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries. Chase Sobolesky-Reynolds had 154 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries.

Quarterback Cameron Erickson was 3 of 11 passing for 58 yards and two touchdowns. Cyrstian Bean had one catch for 18 yards and score and Derek Beairsto caught one pass for 11 yards and a score.

Tristen Johnson had 36 yards on 11 carries to lead the Warriors. Landon Hawes was 13 of 18 passing for 175 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Daniel May caught three passes for 90 yards and two touchdowns and Talon Betts had six catches for 46 yards.

Centralia (5-2, 2-1) travels to Chehalis for the annual Swamp Cup game next Friday. Rochester (1-6, 0-3) hits the road to take on Aberdeen next Friday.

Toledo Shuts Out Wahkiakum

TOLEDO — Toledo ran for 340 yards and held the Mules to minus-10 yards on the ground in a 37-0 win here in a SWW 2B River Division football game here on Friday night.

Duke Schaplow ran for 113 yards and three scores and completed 5 of 14 passes for 152 yards. Jacob Marley ran for 84 yards and a score on four carries and Davin Kinsman added 46 yards on nine carries. Carlo Arceo-Hansen tallied 63 yards and a score on 12 carries.

Jesse Towns caught one pass for 27 yards.

Toledo had 370 yards of total offense compared to just 20 yards for the Mules.

“I think we played well. It took us a while to get going,” Toledo coach Mike Christensen said. “Once we got going, we played pretty good. It was a good defensive effort. I’m happy with the way they played, especially Mateo Chavez-Vodjansky at inside linebacker.”

Toledo (4-3, 2-1) heads to Egg Town to take on the Cardinals next Friday.

Adna Escapes Rainier With 34-24 Win

RAINIER — It was a muddy game here in Rainier on Friday and the Pirates were able to navigate the waters to a 34-24 win in a SWW 2B Mountain Division football game here on Friday.

Adna’s Cole Fay ran for 88 yards and two scores on 14 carries and caught three passes for 21 yards. Quarterback Braden Thomas had 87 yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries. Zach Berg collected 30 yards on eight carries and caught one pass for 10 yards.

Rainier’s Mikey Green had 161 yards and three touchdowns on 14 carries and was 2 of 9 passing for 54 yards. Brody Klein tallied 14 carries for 29 yards. Jake Jeske caught one pass for 45 yards and Logan Bowers caught one pass for nine yards and a touchdown.

Rainier outgained Adna 251-241, although the Pirates had the advantage on the ground, 210-197.

“We played the worst first half I’ve ever seen. The second half, we played much better,” Adna coach KC Johnson said. “You could tell we went two weeks without a game. it reminded me of an opener. We couldn’t catch a cold.”

Johnson commended the play of Lucas Ashley on the defensive line and Jarod Keys did a great job in the second half. He also noted the coverage of Zander Blankenship-Todd.

Adna (4-2, 1-1) hosts Onalaska next Friday while Rainier (4-3, 0-2) travels to Randle to take on Morton-White Pass.

Titans Hammer North Beach

OYEHUT — The Titans only needed 12 seconds to score here Friday night, and didn’t let up until the second half in a 50-0 SWW 2B League Coastal Division win over North Beach.

Kollin Jurek and Max Smith scored three touchdowns each for Pe Ell-Willapa Valley, which improved to 4-3 (3-0 league) with the win.

Jurek ran in a 48-yard touchdown in the first minute, and quarterback Tyler Adkins hit Wyatt Bush with a 28-yard strike midway through the first. Smith’s second touchdown put PWV up 22-0 at the end of the first.

Smith finished with 15 carries for 145 yards, while Jurek ran eight times for 122 yards. Adkins hit 3 of 5 passes for 47 yards.

The defense held North Beach to negative-71 yards rushing, while tallying 389 yards of offense.

Pe Ell-Willapa Valley hosts undefeated Ocosta on Friday night in Menlo.

Mossyrock Falls to Kalama

KALAMA — The Chinooks scored 32 points in the first quarter to earn a 58-6 win against Mossyrock in a SWW 2B River Division football game here on Friday.

Mossyrock’s TJ Villanueva ran for 61 yards for a touchdown on 15 carries. Quarterback Aiden Weist was 1 of 4 passing for 40 yards and Austin King caught the lone pass.

Kalama’s Brennon Vance had six carries for 124 yards and ran for one score and caught two touchdowns. Jack Doerty had three catches for 140 yards and two touchdowns.

“We played alright. We went into the week trying to go out and stay healthy and have a little fun,” Mossyrock coach Chris Fried said. “We gear up for Toutle next week, it’s our homecoming.”

Fried noted the performance of Ryan Belino against the Chinooks.

Mossyrock (2-5, 0-3) takes on the Ducks at home on homecoming week next Friday.
