Friday’s 2A Boys Soccer: Aberdeen Edges W.F. West

By The Chronicle
W.F. West fought hard against Aberdeen, but the Bobcats scored the only goal for a 1-0 win in an Evergreen 2A Conference boys soccer match in Chehalis on Friday.
Aberdeen scored in the 43rd minute on a penalty kick.
“It was a real hard fought game. We’re not a physical team but it was a physical game,” W.F. West coach Tino Sanchez said. “It was disappointing to me. Our boys played great, we just couldn’t put anything in the net.”
Sanchez was pleased with the play of his defense, including sophomore Trevor Jensen in his first varsity game.
W.F. West (0-4-1, 0-2) hosts Rochester at 5 p.m. on Friday in a league game.
Note: Centralia lost to Black Hills on Friday 3-1 in Tumwater.
