Friday’s 2B Softball: Titans Beat Toutle to Stay Undefeated
By The Chronicle
TOUTLE — The Titans pounded out 14 hits here Friday to beat Toutle Lake, 13-3, in a five-inning C2BL softball game.
Britney Patrick led Pe Ell-Willapa Valley at the plate, going 3 for 4 with a double, a triple, a home run and seven RBIs.
Katelynn McGough went 4 for 4 with a double, Annika Mason was 2 for 4 with a double, Morgan Coady was 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI, Kamryn Adkins was 2 for 4 with three RBIs and Megan Krafczyk was 2 for 3 with an RBI.
Adkins tossed all five innings for the Titans, striking out two and allowing five hits, only one of which was for extra bases.
“She was just keeping them off balance. That’s Kamryn’s thing. … When you can throw timing off, you’re doing something good,” PWV coach Ken Olson said. “She was around the zone, up and down, in and out, and she just looked good out there. She looked like she was in control.”
The Titans were without their starting shortstop and starting catcher, and Olson was pleased with the amount of depth his squad showed in the win.
“To have our younger kids come in and hit the ball as well as they did was good to see,” he said. “Our depth is better than I envisioned, so it was good, all the way around. It was a good team win.”
Pe Ell-Willapa Valley (6-0, all league games) hosts Morton-White Pass in Pe Ell on April 10 for a doubleheader, starting at 3 p.m.
