Friday’s Boys Basketball: Toledo Survives Overtime in Ilwaco

By The Chronicle

ILWACO — A wild game went down to the wire here Friday night, with Toledo outlasting Ilwaco 81-75 in an overtime non-league 2B boys basketball contest.

Fano Arceo-Hansen had 17 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Indians, with Andreas Malunat pouring in 19 points.

Ilwaco led 46-42 after three quarters, but Arceo-Hansen hit a pair of 3-pointers in the fourth quarter and younger brother Carlo Arceo-Hansen went 5 of 6 from the foul line in the overtime period.

“They brought it,” Toledo coach Grady Fallon said. “We didn’t match their intensity there for a while. It took us a while to get warmed up.”

The teams combined to shoot 68 foul shots, with Toledo going 23 of 33 from the stripe.

Ilwaco (6-3) had just five players score, though all five hit double figures. Reese Tynkila led the way with 22 points, Joe Nisbett added 18 and Tenyson Ramsey chipped in 13.

Hayden Farbo and Bryce Marcil each added 11 for Toledo.

The Indians (8-1) face 2A Woodland on Friday, Dec. 28, at Central Washington University, then play two-time defending State 2B champion Kittitas at 3:30 p.m., also in Ellensburg, the next day.
