Legion Baseball: Renegades Crush North Thurston

The I-5 Renegades made quick work of North Thurston at Bearcat Stadium on Wednesday, winning 10-0 in five innings in Legion Baseball action.
Kaleb Rashoff pitched all five innings for the Renegades, allowing five hits with no runs and six strikeouts.
At the plate, Brit Lusk was 2 for 3 with two RBIs and Josiah Johnson added a hit, two RBIs and two runs. Luke Bennett also had two RBIs and two runs for the Renegades.
After opening the scoring with two runs in the second inning, the Renegades added three runs in the third and fourth frames before scoring two more runs in the fifth to end the game.
The Renegades are back in action on Monday, hosting Montesano at Bearcat Stadium in a doubleheader.
Lower Columbia Tops RBI
WINLOCK — Lower Columbia collected 15 hits en route to a 12-6 win over Rural Baseball Inc. in a Legion Baseball game here on Tuesday.
A.J. Volk was 2 for 4 with two runs and Mason Titus was 2 for 3 with a walk. Bubbles Cantrell and Ryan Pedersen each added two hits for the Dirtbags.
RBI coach Jordan Nailon was pleased with the pitching of Chris Kirner, making his first appearance on the mound for RBI.
“We made our errors when he was pitching but out of all of our pitchers, he had the best stuff. He really challenged those guys,” Nailon said. “I wanted to throw him to the lions and see if he can compete with one of the best squads in our area. I really liked the way he attacked the zone.”
Lower Columbia scored four runs in the first inning and added eight runs in the fourth through sixth innings. RBI didn’t go down without a fight, scoring three runs in the seventh, but it wasn’t enough.
RBI competes in the Fourth Annual Orzel Memorial Tournament, beginning on Thursday in Winlock.
Errors Cost Renegades Against Black Hills
The I-5 Jeep Renegades committed 11 errors in Chehalis on Tuesday, allowing Black Hills to earn a 14-5 win in Legion Baseball action.
Kaelin Hazen had two hits and two RBIs for the Renegades.
Black Hills scored three runs in the first two innings and added seven runs in the fourth and fifth frames to secure the win.
Kelso Takes Two From RBI
WINLOCK — The Rural Baseball Inc. Anglers played two tough games against Kelso here on Monday, but the Hilanders were able to earn two wins in Legion Baseball action.
In Game 1, Kelso scored a run in the ninth to edge the Anglers, 7-6.
RBI’s Jesse Towns was 2 for 4 with a double and had two great defensive plays. Rowdy Kirkendoll also made a great catch in the outfield and Evan Moon had an RBI in the seventh to tie the game.
Kelso scored six runs in the third inning to lead 6-4 after three innings. RBI added a run in the fifth and seventh, but Kelso’s run in the ninth was the difference.
In Game 2, Kelso scored nine runs in the final two frames to win 11-3.
Drayson Hilkmier had a hit for the Anglers.
The Anglers compete next at the Orzel Memorial Tournament starting on Thursday in Winlock.
