Monday’s 2B BBB: Wallace Pushes Toledo Past Chief Leschi

By The Chronicle
ROCHESTER — Toledo’s Reece Wallace scored 34 points to lead the Indians to a 74-52 win against Chief Leschi in a District 4 2B Boys Basketball Tournament consolation game here on Monday.
Toledo faces Willapa Valley on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in Castle Rock in another loser out game.
Wallace made nine 3-pointers, tying the district tournament record with Shane Schutz and Kevin Grabenhorst, and sets the school record for 3’s in a game.
Fano Arceo-Hansen added 12 points, Junior Arroyo led the team with 11 rebounds and Westin Wallace had 10 rebounds.
“When he was open, everytime we needed a big bucket, he definitely knocked it down,” Toledo coach Grady Fallon said.
Toledo led 15-9 after one quarter, but the Warriors closed the gap and trailed 28-26 at halftime.
Chief Leschi came out and took a 4-point lead early in the third quarter, but Toledo was able to calm down and pick apart the Warriors’ zone defense to retake the lead and shot 9 of 13 from the free throw line down the stretch to stay alive in the district tournament.
“I thought we played good as a team,” Fallon said. “Everybody came in and contributed, everybody rebounded.”
