Monday’s Boys Golf: W.F. West Edges Aberdeen

ABERDEEN — W.F. West didn’t have the match medalist but had just enough low scores to earn a 239-244 win against Aberdeen in an Evergreen 2A Conference boys golf match at Grays Harbor Country Club here on Monday.

Aberdeen’s Nolan King shot a 40 to earn match medalist honors. W.F. West’s Tukker Rosbach finished second with a 43 and teammate Camryn Bostick carded a 45 to take third place.

W.F. West’s Jacob Douglass tallied a 47 and Micah Ethel shot a 50. Brock Bunker rounded out the Bearcats with a 54.

Aberdeen’s Nick Farrer shot a 46, Evan Waara shot a 47 and Gavin Timmons carded a 49. Trevon Nichols tallied a 62.

“The team played really well. Two pretty evenly matched teams,” W.F. West coach Matt Klovdahl said. “Tukker (Rosbach) was three under his average, (Jacob) Douglass was two under his average.”

W.F. West (4-1, 4-0) hosts Tumwater at Newaukum Valley Golf Course on Wednesday in an EvCo match.

Rochester Falls to Tumwater

TUMWATER — Rochester’s Logan Fry shot a 48 to lead the Warriors but it wasn’t enough, as Tumwater won 218-299 in an Evergreen 2A Conference boys golf match at Tumwater Valley Golf Course here on Monday.

Tumwater’s Tyler Thompson earned medalist honors with a 37. Matthew Gleizes shot a 44 and Regan Broome finished third with a 45.

Rochester’s Gabe Masias tallied a 57 and Luke Barth shot a 59. Hayden Williams carded a 66 and Xavier Mendez rounded out the Warriors with a 69.

Rochester (0-4) travels back to Tumwater to take on Black Hills on Wednesday in an EvCo match.
