Thursday’s 2A Boys Basketball: Rochester Falls to Aberdeen

By The Chronicle
ROCHESTER — Rochester’s Bryce Lollar and Keegan Goldrick each scored 15 points, but it wasn’t enough as Aberdeen earned a 48-39 win in an Evergreen 2A Conference boys basketball game here on Thursday.
Aberdeen’s Ben Dublanko led all scorers with 22 points.
Aberdeen led 12-10 after the first quarter and kept the momentum going to lead 23-19 at halftime.
Rochester battled back in the third quarter, holding a lead at one point but trailed 30-29 going into the fourth quarter. Aberdeen took advantage of Rochester misses in the fourth quarter to hold off the Warriors for the win.
“Tonight was a pretty simple recipe. They did what they needed to do to finish the game. It was pretty tight the whole way,” Rochester coach Mark Goldrick said. “They just made the plays at the end and we didn’t. We got open looks and they just did not fall. It was almost enough.”
Rochester (5-9, 0-4) travels to Tumwater on Wednesday to face Black Hills in a conference matchup.
