Thursday’s 2A Softball: Bearcats Swing Past Bobcats

ABERDEEN — W.F. West collected 20 hits to defeat Aberdeen, 17-1, in five innings in an Evergreen 2A Conference softball game here on Thursday.

Olivia Dean was 4 for 5 with a triple and Paetynn Lopez was 3 for 5 with two home runs and six RBIs.

Annika Waring was 3 for 4 with a homer and three RBIs and Paytton Crawford was 3 for 3 for the Bearcats.

Ashlee Vadala pitched all five innings and allowed just one hit and one run.

“She’s been super impressive this week. She’s showing great command and great pose,” W.F. West coach Caty Lieseke said, adding that Vadala needed just four pitches in the fourth inning.

“We talked a lot afterwards about playing our game and taking care of business. That’s all I can ask of them,” Lieseke said. “I’m super proud of what we’ve been putting out there.”

W.F. West (5-2, 2-0 league) travels to Rochester on Friday for an EvCo game.
