Thursday’s Boys Golf: Aberdeen Swings Past Rochester
By The Chronicle
Rochester’s Logan Fry shot a 48, but Aberdeen prevailed 247-261 in an Evergreen 2A Conference boys golf match at Riverside Golf Course in Chehalis.
Aberdeen’s Nolan King earned medalist honors with a 46 and teammate Jackson Larson finished second with a 47. Fry placed third with a 48.
Rochester’s Marcus Ashton shot a 50, Gabe Masias carded a 52 and Marcus Corrento fired a 53. Luke Barth rounded out the Warriors with a 58.
“Mixed results. It wasn’t the blockbuster day in terms of average but the supporting cast guys played well,” Rochester coach Eric Holmkvist said. “The first time we played Aberdeen, we shot a 289. Compare that, the growth is there.”
Holmkvist praised the play of Aberdeen, noting the Bobcats had a solid team effort.
Rochester hosts W.F. West at Riverside on Monday in an EvCo game.
