Thursday’s Prep Softball: Thunderbirds Overwhelm Tigers

TUMWATER — Tumwater scored a run in all five innings to earn a 13-2 win over Centralia in an Evergreen 2A Conference softball game here on Thursday.

Centralia’s Kylie Sharp was 2-for-3 with a run and Courtney Spriggs was 2-for-3 with two RBI. Sophie Duffy was also 2-for-3 for the Tigers.

Jaidyn Carpenter was solid in the circle for the Thunderbirds, pitching all five innings while allowing two runs on eight hits with six strikeouts.

Tumwater scored two runs in the first, one run in the second and three runs in the third before plating five runs in the fourth inning. Centralia scored two runs in the fifth, but Tumwater matched the Tigers with two runs in the fifth to end the game early.

Centralia (4-5, 2-4) travels to Aberdeen on Friday for a league game.
