By The Chronicle

TUMWATER — Tessa Smith scored 17 points to lead Centralia but it wasn’t enough as the Wolves won 91-59 in an Evergreen 2A Conference girls golf match at Tumwater Valley Golf Course on Tuesday.

Mckenna Canty earned medalist honors with 33 points. Smith finished second with 17 points and Centralia’s Lexi Erb and Black Hills’ Senna Yim and Kayleen Hall each tied for third with 15 points.

Centralia’s Lily Miller tallied 12 points and Mazzi Nowicki chipped in 10 points. Jordan Blaettler scored five points and Karen Wu rounded out the Tigers with three points.

“We had four girls in double figures, been a while since we’ve had that. Tessa Smith played her consistent self, Lexi and Mazzi and Lily had just really good rounds,” Centralia coach Hal Gronseth said. “Mazzi and Lily had double figures for the first time, Mckenna (Canty) is just a great player, has been for four years. We played pretty well, good weather.”

Centralia travels to Aberdeen on Wednesday for the regular season finale.
