“The girls did really well tonight. We’ve been making a lot of rotations into our lineup. The girls are really starting to develop some good chemistry,” W.F. West coach Allen Anderson said. “Especially with our defense, we’ve been able to keep a lot more possession of the ball.”
Anderson was pleased with the defensive performance of Kyla McCallum, a freshman stepping in and playing well in the middle of the Bearcat defense. He also mentioned the chemistry between Bennett and Tornow that is developing into a solid offensive duo.
“Courtney had a great game tonight,” Anderson said. “When she’s hot, it means good things for our team. When her and Lauren (Tornow) start working together, it is fun to watch.”
Centralia coach Henry Gallanger was pleased with his team’s performance, but wants his team to generate more shots on goal.
“We played really well for most of the game. The game was close until we had two mistakes in the final minutes of the game,” Gallanger said. “I was happy with how our players battled through most of that. They’re fighting all the way until the end of the game. We’re getting tired of losing, we just have to keep our head in the game and good things are going to happen.”
W.F. West (4-6-1, 3-2) hosts Tumwater on Thursday while Centralia (2-9, 1-4) travels to Aberdeen for an EvCo match.
