Tuesday’s Prep Baseball: Pirates No-Hit Mossyrock in Opener
By The Chronicle
ADNA — A trio of Pirate pitchers combined to no-hit Mossyrock here Tuesday as Adna won, 13-1, in both teams’ Central 2B League baseball opener.
Camden Ryan worked the first three innings for Adna, with Gavin Guard and Sawyer Burdick each throwing scoreless frames to close out the win.
Adna led 4-0 after three frames, then plated nine in the fourth inning and ended the game after the top of the fifth.
Abel Ingle went 2 for 2 with five RBIs for Adna, including a two-run triple and a two-run single in the big fourth inning. Burdick, Ryan and Conner Weed each went 2 for 3 and drove in a pair of runs.
“It’s the first game, and we took advantage of a couple walks, and our hits were timely,” Adna coach Jon Rooklidge said. “We pitched well and threw strikes.”
Adna (1-0) plays at Toledo on Friday. Mossyrock (0-1) hosts Napavine on Friday.
