Tuesday’s Women’s College Basketball: Centralia Holds Off Clark

VANCOUVER — Centralia’s Lindsey Nurmi scored 15 points to lead the Lady Blazers to a 60-48 win over Clark in a non-regional women’s college basketball game here on Tuesday.

Rachel Wilkerson came off the bench and scored 13 points for Centralia. Piper Cai added 12 points and six rebounds and Iasbella Elwood chipped in 10 points.

Jodi Thomasian scored 14 points to lead Clark.

The field goal percentages were similar, but the Blazers shot 30 percent from behind the arc while Clark made just 3 of 21 3-pointers and shot 14 percent.

Centralia jumped ahead early and led 17-7 after one quarter and took a 32-19 lead into intermission. The Lady Blazers scored just nine points in the final quarter but were able to hold on to earn the win.

Centralia (2-3) hosts Umpqua on Saturday in the Centralia tournament at 7 p.m. at Michael Smith Gymnasium.
