W.F. West’s Bunker Places Fourth at State Bowling
UNIVERSITY PLACE — W.F. West’s Ellie Bunker finished in fourth place in the individual portion of the State 1A/2A girls bowling tournament at Narrows Plaza Bowl here on Friday.
Bunker bowled games of 163, 177, 176, 179, 155 and rolled a solid 200 in the final game for a total of 1,050 pins. Leslie Erwin finished 11th for the Bearcats, with games of 179, 179, 165, 138, 156 and 168 for a total of 985 pins. Teammate Kelsey Stritmatter was right behind Erwin in 12th place, with games of 179, 143, 160, 189, 164 and 147 for a total of 982.
Jessica Loflin totaled 749 pins and Brianna Powe tallied 689 pins for W.F. West.
The Bearcats sit in third place as a team after the first day with a total of 4,705 pins. Black Hills is in the lead after day one with 4,878 pins and Mark Morris is close behind in second place with 4,841 pins.
Mark Morris’ Brooklyn Boudreau won her third straight individual state title with a total of 1,270 pins. Black Hills’ Mackenzie Theophilus finished in second with 1,172 pins and Columbia River’s Rileigh Chinn earned third place with 1,077 pins.
W.F. West is back in action at 8 a.m. at Narrows Plaza Bowl for team bunker games to complete the tournament.
