Wednesday’s 2A Cross Country: W.F. West Earns Second at Evergreen 2A Conference Championships

The Bearcat boys and girls each earned second place at the Evergreen 2A Conference Championships cross country race at Stan Hedwall Park in Chehalis on Wednesday.

In girls action, W.F. West’s Elaina Koenig finished second in 22 minutes, five seconds. Tumwater’s Olivia Bailon won the race in 19:40.

Xylia Warner finished sixth for the Bearcats in 22:53. Iris Van der ploeg finished 11th in 24:10 and Annika Waring placed 12th in 24:14. W.F. West’s Riley Johnston (25:04) finished 14th and Centralia’s Jade Hudson (25:13) took 15th.

Tumwater won the team title with 20 points while W.F. West finished second with 41 points.

In the boys race, W.F. West’s Myles Johnston finished sixth in 17:32 and Rochester’s Levi Jennings took seventh in 17:39. William Taylor placed ninth in 17:56 and Henry Jordan earned 10th for the Bearcats in 18:06.

Tumwater’s Josh Newman won the race in 17:06.

Centralia’s Cameron Moore (18:07) finished 11th and W.F. West’s Francisco Lima (18:17) took 12th. Saigon Silva (18:58) placed 17th and Devin Harrison (19:09) finished 19th for the Tigers. W.F. West’s Zachary Wood (19:11) rounded out the Top 20.

Tumwater won the team title with 29 points and W.F. West finished second with 57 points. Centralia took fourth with 103 points.

W.F. West, Centralia and Rochester will be back in action next Thursday at the District 4 Championships at Lewis River Golf Course in Woodland.
