Wednesday’s Boys Soccer: Grizzlies Roar Past Beavers

By The Chronicle

TENINO — The Beaver offense wasn’t able to get on the scoresheet as Hoquiam earned a 7-0 win in a 1A Evergreen League boys soccer game here on Wednesday.

Jose Juarez netted two goals in the first half and Kevin Catalan added a goal in the first half for a 3-0 Hoquiam lead at intermission.

It was the Andy Garcia show in the second half, scoring a hat trick within 10 minutes. Ben Estes had the other goal for Hoquiam.

Devin Billings made 10 saves and Chris Ramez made two saves for the Beavers.

“We continue to grow, continuing to improve. It was similar to our game on Monday,” Tenino coach Kevin Schultz said. “We give up a goal and played pretty well the rest of the first half. Right before halftime, we gave up two quick goals, a 10 minute stretch where we fall apart. We’re finding consistency, we have a lot of freshman and sophomores that are working hard and growing.”

Tenino (3-8-1, 3-7) travels to Eatonville on Friday at 6 p.m. for a non-league game.
