Centralia’s Alex Alvarenga scored a hat trick to lead the Tigers to a 6-2 win over Black Hills in an Evergreen 2A Conference boys soccer game at Tiger Stadium in Centralia on Wednesday.
Kibrom Tesfagergis, Mario Silva and Julian Velazquez each added a goal for the Tigers. William Brown tallied two assists in the win.
“They’ve been working a lot on their passing and it really showed up in the game tonight,” Centralia coach Phil Strodemier said. “I’m real proud of them for coming out and executing what we work on all the time. We controlled the whole second half and the boys passed the ball around well.”
Centralia (2-3-1, 1-1) travels to Rochester on Friday for a league battle.

HOQUIAM — Tenino couldn’t get anything going against Hoquiam here on Wednesday, falling to the Grizzlies 12-0 in a 1A Evergreen League boys soccer game.
Hector De La Osa and Connor Darras tallied four goals each for Hoquiam. Edgar Estrada recorded two goals and Dylan Baker and Skylar Johnson each had a goal.
Tenino’s Devin Billings made 15 saves in the loss.
“Hoquiam just took it to us today. We didn’t get off the bus with the right intensity and when you do that against a high quality team like Hoquiam you are going to get punished for it,” Tenino coach Kevin Schultz said. “A good lesson for our young team. Not how we wanted to go into spring break but gives us a lot to work on over break.”
Tenino (1-4-1, 1-3) hosts Montesano on Tuesday, April 9, in a league contest.
