Wednesday’s College Softball: Centralia Crushes Grays Harbor

ABERDEEN — Centralia’s Dakota Brooks pitched a one hitter to lead the Blazers to an 18-1 win in five innings in a NWAC South Conference softball game here on Wednesday.
Brooks allowed one hit, one run and two walks while striking out six batters. She helped her own cause at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs.
Britzy Hockett was 3-for-4 with four runs and Olivia Dean was 4-for-5 with a home run, a double, four runs and four RBI.
Jamie Carlson was 3-for-4 with three doubles, a run and four RBI and McKenna Smith was 2-for-3 with a run and four RBI. Alyssa Jorgensen was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs. Devanie Kleemeyer and Shelby Levang each had a double and Jayden Benson was 2-for-2 with two runs for the Blazers.
Centralia scored five runs in the first, one run in the second and three runs in the third for a 9-1 lead. The Blazers put the game away with four runs in the fourth and five runs in the fifth.
Centralia (25-11, 19-7) will wrap up the regular season on Friday, hosting Mt. Hood at 3 p.m. in a South Conference doubleheader.
