Wednesday’s Cross Country: Centralia’s Erickson Wins Girls Race at EvCo Dual Meet

Centralia’s Makayla Erickson won the girls race at an Evergreen 2A Conference dual cross country meet at Fort Borst Park in Centralia on Wednesday.
Erickson completed the race in 21 minutes, 38 seconds. Tumwater’s Lydia Jack finished second with a time of 21:39 and Centralia’s Brynna Rooklidge placed third with a time of 22:31.
Centralia’s Miriam Martinez (25:45) finished 13th, Kendra Sutton (26:32) earned 14th place and Alana Conley (38:09) finished in 15th.
In the boys race, William Brown was the highest finisher for Tigers with a time of 18:13. Tumwater’s Josh Newman won the race in 17:02.
Centralia’s Cameron Moore (18:14) earned fifth place. Elias Stehr (20:57) finished 13th, Jaycob White (21:01) placed 14th, Elijah Molina (21:15) earned 15th place, Cameron Lawson (21:17) finished in 16th and Noah Aliff (21:27) placed 17th for the Tigers.
Tumwater won the boys and girls team titles.
Centralia races next at the 2A EvCo League Championships on Wednesday at Pioneer Park in Tumwater.

Rochester’s Belknap Takes Third at EvCo Dual Meet
TUMWATER — Rochester’s Hazel Belknap finished in third place at an Evergreen 2A Conference dual cross country meet here on Wednesday.
Belknap completed the race in 24 minutes, 29 seconds. Black Hills’ Maggie Wood-Richardson won the race in 22:10.
Gabriella Holman (24:49) earned fifth place and Lizeth Rodriguez (27:23) finished in sixth place for the Warriors.
In the boys race, Rochester’s Casey Reese was the highest finisher in fourth place with a time of 18:18. Black Hills’ Truman Affeldt won the race with a time of 17:11.
Levi Jennings (19:19) finished sixth, Jamison Cody (19:30) placed seventh and Jared Winters (19:30) earned eighth place for the Warriors.
Rochester races next at the 2A EvCo League Championships on Wednesday at Pioneer Park in Tumwater.
