Wednesday’s Men’s College Basketball: Blazers Use Big Second Half to Defeat Rangers

BREMERTON — Centralia scored 50 points in the second half to pull away and defeat Olympic 89-74 in a non-divisional NWAC men’s college basketball game here on Wednesday.

Marqus Gilson recorded another double-double for the Blazers, scoring 16 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Jimmy Harding led Centralia with 17 points. Liam Murphy added 14 points, Peyton Stanley chipped in 11 points and LaBrandon Price tallied 10 points.

Calvin Dennis recorded his own double-double for Olympic with 16 points and 17 rebounds. Izaiah Clark led the Rangers with 17 points and Devon Kelley also had 16 points.

Centralia forced 17 turnovers including 11 steals, with Murphy leading the way with four steals.

The Blazers led 39-31 after the first half and scored 50 in the second half to put the game away.

Centralia (7-3) faces Walla Walla at noon in the CCC Holiday Showcase next Friday.
