Wednesday’s Track & Field: Powell Captures Two Wins at EvCo Meet

ABERDEEN — Centralia’s Bailey Powell earned two wins at an Evergreen 2A Conference track meet against Black Hills and Aberdeen here on Wednesday.
Powell won the 100 meter dash in 13.46 seconds and won the 200 (30.10). Teammate Lucy Nowicki won the 400 (1:05.16) and Makayla Erickson won the 3200 (12:56.80).
The 4×100 team of Nowicki, Powell, Rebekah Robbins and Tawnee Craig won with a time of 55.85 seconds. The 4×400 relay team of Hannah Robbins, Erickson, Anastasia Ulrigg and Craig earned the win with a time of 4:44.69.
Alayna Miller finished second in the 100 hurdles (20.54) and Satine Sas placed second in the discus (80-02). Kacey Emery took second in the shot put (29-05) and third in the javelin (81-11).
Black Hills won the girls team title with 65 points and Centralia earned second with 46 points, edging host Aberdeen by one point.
In boys action, Centralia’s Cameron Moore won the 400 (53.78) and Rudy Voetberg won the 3200 (10:51.50) and placed second in the 1600 (4:54.52). Cameron Lawson took second in the 300 hurdles (49.68).
The 4×100 relay of Gabe Chapin, Lawson, Sha’Ron Settles and Moore took second with a time of 47.74. The 4×400 relay of Andrew Kahn, Kolby Selstrom, Ben Corwin and Voetberg with a time of 3:57.42.
Aberdeen won the boys team title by one point over Black Hills and the Tigers finished third.
Centralia travels to Oregon City to participate in the Willamette Falls Invitational on Saturday.
